Men's XV - How to Join

teamhuddle

We welcome all ages and levels of ability, especially if you are from New Zealand. To join, simply come out to training on Wednesday or Friday. Even better, you can call or email us beforehand to let us know your coming using the details listed on the contact page.

The first 3 training sessions are entirely free - what a bargain! After that, or before your first match you will need to turn in your registration and medical forms for insurance purposes, and of course pay your dues.

FORMS

All new club members who have not played in the Belgian Rugby Federation before must complete two forms:

1 . The Medical Form          (sample filled-in)

2.  The Registration Form   (sample filled-in)

Please make sure they are filled out completely; signed, dated and stamped where applicable. Then return them to the Club Secretary ASAP.

To transfer to Brussels Celtic from another club in Belgium you will also need to complete:

1. The Transfer Form.

Return the form with the first 2 boxes completed to the Club Secretary. Transfers can only be made between May and September.

The membership fee for a season is €190 due on 1st Sept.

A concessional fee of €100 is available for students and the unemployed.

Your dues help cover critical costs for the club such as pitch/facilities rentals, equipment, referees fees, laundromat costs, tournament entry fees, medical supplies expenses, etc. (They are seldom used for exotic perks for the executive committee.)

So please pay your fees as soon as possible after your third training session!

ADDITIONAL NOTES

1. Members who have not paid their fees 2 months after the due date (or 2 months after having joined), and who do not have a reasonable excuse will be subject to a €10 late fee, This will be increased to €20 if payment has not been received 4 months after the due date.

2. VUB students who wish to only train with us on the VUB pitches and who are covered by VUB's insurance need neither pay any fees nor complete any forms. If they want to play in competitive League & Cup matches they will first need to complete and hand in the forms and pay the annual fee at the standard student discount.

3. If you do not want to play in competitive League or Cup matches you need only complete and hand in the Registration Form. But really who comes out to only trainings and doesn't play in the games?!

4. Please note that all processing of all forms involves their being sent by post to the VRB in Antwerp and then the new or updated license being sent back to the Club Secretary in Brussels. Therefore, if you want to have any chance of playing on any given weekend then the Club Secretary must be in possession of your completed forms before the preceding Monday at 16:00 at the latest!

5. By completing the registration form, you are committing yourself to becoming a member of the club, and to pay the appropriate membership fee.

MEDICAL FORM RENEWAL

Everyone who has registered with Brussels Celtic must get a new Medical Form completed every year to be eligible to play in League or Cup matches. If you got your medical done between September 1st & December 31st of any given year and handed it in to the Club Secretary it remains valid until December 31st of the following year. Otherwise, any medical form obtained and handed in between January 1st & August 31st of any year only remains valid until December 31st of that same year.

DOCTORS
